Not Potter but Hotter

11 March, 2008

At the beginning of February, Harry Potter star performer Daniel Radcliffe gave up the lead reigns as Alan Strang in the touring play Equus by Peter Shaffer.

Daniel’s role in the show was originally sensationalised by the press and other media as he had to appear naked on stage, showing once and for all that the Harry Potter star had actually and quite impressively grown up. Photos of his naked and semi naked torso were splashed all over the press and if I’m being honest, also all over this blog at the time.

The photos appeared everywhere, including the now famous “fake” photo of his magic wand, but that photo has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be a photoshopped fraud, so I’m not going to reproduce it here.

Daniel’s place in the show has been taken by Alfie Allen, son of Brit actor Keith Allen and brother to pop songstress Lily. Alfie is no stranger to controversy, his sister wrote one of the songs on her best selling album about him, and it wasn’t complimentary. Alfie recently commented on the song, saying that he was in a diferent place in his life when that song was written and the person Lily sang about then, no longer exists.

When Alfie’s appointment to the role was made public, the media clamoured to get their hands on the promotional stills for the show to see if he “measured up” to Daniel. They were disappointed as the official stills, do not show Alfie naked.

The images below are the original Hi-Res photos, to view them original size, simply click on the image and they will open in a new window.

When Daniel was in the role he was 17 years old, the same age as the character is supposed to be in the play, however Alfie is currently 21 years old but believes that he can play the role in a more modern way than Daniel did. Alfie has not had as much acting experience as Daniel and has only had small roles in films such as Atonement, which is where he came to the attention of the play’s producers. Alfie is joined on stage by veteran actors Simon Callow and Linda Thorson.

The play will be performed in Sheffield and Bradford during April and May. I may just book tickets to see the show in Bradford, just to see what all the hype is about.

Alfie Allen is perfect – at least perfect to look at and drool over. I have no idea about his acting skills, but I don’t care.
The arms are so naturally well formed and the face kind of aloof, the boy really is a beautiful little stud and I can’t stop looking!

Did you see the Richard Burton movie version of Equus? I think that Alfie better fits the role from reading Shaffer’s play than I would imagine Radcliffe, but who knows… Maybe I just have the dirty blonde image in my head from the Burton film.

I have to say that there is something unnatural about those images of Alfie.

Speaking of handsome men… You can have your Alfie Allen or your Daniel Radcliffe. I’ll take Will Mellor anyday.

Mike Says:- Well yes, Will Mellor is a bit more rough and ready, but he has put on quite a little weight in the past few years and isn’t as buff as he once was.

Hehehehe, I had no idea they were fake!

Mike says:- Only the photo of him showing his penis leaning on the horse, that one is definately a fake, I’ve seen the original photo and the photo where the penis came from…!
