Poor Lampard
So Chelsea are to sue the FA for £900,000 after Frank Lampard picked up an injury during a cramped seven-hour flight to Doha.
Lampard has been forced to return home and will now miss Saturday’s friendly against Brazil in the Middle East.
And the Blues are blaming the erstwhile FA for skimping on an economy flight, forcing the England team to spend the long-haul journey on a charter plane designed for short-haul flights only.
Fabio Capello’s pampered Premier League footballers are more used to flat beds for long journeys and were shocked to find they had to put up with seats that barely reclined.
But poor Lampard, who strained his thigh after bursting into a sprint in training, was not the only one to suffer and other players complained of cramps and muscle pains on their arrival in Doha.
I feel so sorry for these guys being forced to travel like mere mortals and I make no apologies for using a photo of him shirtless. It’s my blog afterall!
