007 – Quantum of Solace

 

Not such a strange concept title for the 22nd Bond film, as Bond titles go, it’s not bad, but how on earth is Amy Winehouse gonna come up with a decent song with that in the title.

The title is taken from a short story by creator Ian Fleming which was part of the For Your Eyes Only collection in 1960.

The quantum of solace refers to the smallest part of human compassion that people hold for each other, which means that the next film is really about Bond’s recovery after losing his love interest from the previous Casino Royale film.

Of course this just gives me an excuse to display some more gratuitous photos of Daniel Craig, who is reported to have said, that for this next film he is going to loose some of the bulk muscle he put on for Casino Royale, as he needs to be more athletic. I hope he doesn’t loose too much.

 

He was just about the right size in Tomb Raider (the first one) and didn’t really need to bulk up that much.
